zi also got mugged at a traffic signal in Lahore on Thursday.
The MPA’s vehicle was waiting at
a signal when unknown suspects on gunpoint snatched his mobile phone and Rs 15,000 in cash. Niazi narrated his ordeal, saying that traffic was at a standstill due
to a VIP movement, adding that snatchers after the act ran towards the other side of the road.
It is pertinent to mention that
a significant surge in ‘violent crimes’ on the streets of the provincial capital have been witnessed and in the past one-and-a-ha
lf months over 44 people have been killed.
Also, 423 cases of street crimes have been reported with the police. Over 650 motorcycles have been either snatche
d or stolen from the first of October till the 22nd of November.
