ricketer Wasim Akram has decided to resolve the matter out of court with the suspect, who allegedly shot at his car in a road rage incident in August, 2015, and withdrew the case.
During a court hearing of the road-rage shooting case on Tuesday, former Pakistan captain’s manager told the Judicial Magistrate-East that the former c
ricketer had reached an out-of-court sett
lement with the suspect.
However, the court demanded his presence and ordered that if he fails to appear, the i
nvestigative officers would be dispatched to arrest him.
Later, Akram presented himself before the court and apprised the co
urt regarding the sett
lement he reached with the car shooting suspect. The court then accepted the sett
lement and approved Akram’s request to end the case.
It is pertinent to mention that in August 2015, Akram’s car was fired upon in Karsaz area of Karachi. The police’s i
nvestigation revealed it to be an incident fueled by ‘road rage’. Akram had lodged a complaint with Bahadarabad police, after which a case was registered a
gainst a suspect.
